Zamfara State Police Command has decorated 23 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) with the esteemed rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).

The event, held at the Police Command Headquarters in Gusau, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Shehu Muhammad Dalijan, emphasized the paramount importance of diligence and commitment in fulfilling the responsibilities associated with the elevated rank.

CP Dalijan underscored the necessity for the newly promoted officers to uphold the core principles of professionalism and ethics inherent to the Nigeria Police Force.

Addressing the gathering, CP Dalijan highlighted the profound significance of the SP rank, citing historical examples of influential leaders who once held this position, such as Audu Bako of Kano.

He emphasized the potential for leadership and impactful service that accompanies the rank of Superintendent of Police.

In response on behalf of other decorated officers SP Lawal Buhari, representing his fellow promoted officers, expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun Adeolu, the Police Service Commission led by former IGP Solomon Arase, and Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, CP Shehu Muhammad Dalijan.

Noting that their recognition of merit and subsequent elevation to the rank of SP was acknowledged with a pledge of unwavering dedication and commitment to surpass expectations in their duties.

Among the officers elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police are SP Lawal Buhari, SP Zakari Waziri, SP Adamu Umar, SP Mery Thomas, SP Shehu Mohammed, SP Sani B Yarima, SP Armaya’u Liman, SP Chilaka Arinzechukwu, SP Sani Salihu, SP Abdullahi Suleiman, SP Usman Aliyu, SP Muh’d Bala, SP Ibrahim Umar, SP Abdullahi Lawal Mohammed, SP Saidu Auwalu, SP Ya’u Abdulkadir, SP Murtala Ibrahim, SP Mahmud Malan Garba, SP Samaila Suleiman, SP Lawal Umar, SP Mai Mohammed, SP Abdulrahman Aliyu, and SP Salisu Sulaiman.

The ceremony, graced by distinguished guests including the Emir of Bungudu, Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, and representatives of the Emir of Gusau, along with family and friends of the decorated officers, concluded with the Zamfara State Police Command extending heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted officers, wishing them continued success in their noble service to the nation.
