President Tinubu Cancels Birthday Celebration Amidst Nat’l Challenges

Written by Yusuf Zubairu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 72nd birthday will fall on Friday, March 29, 2024, marking another significant milestone in his leadership and statesmanship.

Traditionally, family, friends, and associates celebrate such occasions in various ways.

However, given the current challenges, President Tinubu has opted not to host any birthday event or allow others to organize celebrations on his behalf.

President Tinubu appreciates the honour of being the leader of Africa’s leading nation at this time and he is working very hard to make life better for the generality of his people.

According to him, due to the current national mood and the recent killings of military and police personnel in Delta State, as well as the increasing security breaches across Nigeria, there should be no birthday events or advertisement of goodwill messages in newspapers, radio, or television.

President Tinubu enjoins friends and associates who may wish to place goodwill advertorials to kindly donate the money to charity organisations of their choice in his name.

While the President acknowledges the bravery of the armed forces in rescuing the kidnapped children in Kuriga, Kaduna State, and Sokoto State, he intends to utilize his birthday as a moment for introspection and renewed commitment to the mission of fostering a stronger, safer, more prosperous, and unified Nigeria.
