Kebbi State Government, says it will support Kaduna Electric Distribution Company (KAEDCO) with two 15 MVA transformers towards enhancing power supply in the state.

The Special Adviser to the State Governor on Power and Political Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant, stated this while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.

According to him, state government and the Management of KAEDCO held a meeting on ways of improving power supply to the state, adding that, the firm complaint of having feeders that can not provide enough supply to transformars across the state.

Alhaji Sani Giant, stated that government was emphasising on the need for consumers to be paying their light bill and the company to employ prudent staff that collect payment from consumers.

He emphasised that, traditional institutions should also be paying their light bill and stop depending on government for the payment as KAEDCO is operating a private business.

The Special Adviser revealed that, government had opted out for solar power street lights to reduce the cost of montly billing of seven million naira if the ongoing roads reconstruction in the state capital is completed.

He however called on the people of the state to support the present administration in ensuring more development.
