The unveiling of President Tinubu’s second ministerial list, which was presented on Wednesday alongside the initial list of 28 names, has ignited a wave of reactions, particularly concerning the inclusion of nine former governors.

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has raised questions about the inclusion of these former governors, especially those who were unsuccessful in the 2023 general election.

National Chairman of IPAC, Yabagi Sani, expressed his reservations on a televised program, asserting that these past governors hold little to contribute to the country.

He anticipated the nominees to voluntarily relinquish their positions in favour of technocrats who could offer fresh perspectives and expertise.

However, Ex-minster Femi Fani-Kayode and a twitter user, Sani Yusuf praised the composition of the ministerial list, describing the individuals selected as deserving representatives who would effectively serve the nation’s interests.

Also, a representative of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayo Oyalowo, who also participated in televised discussions, argued that each nominee on the list earned their place through merit.

Oyalowo emphasised that their contributions significantly contributed to President Tinubu’s electoral success, asserting that such recognition is well-deserved for their dedicated efforts.

Oyalowo further added that former governors continue to possess valuable insights and contributions that could greatly benefit the country’s development.
