The Department of State Services (DSS) has charged Mr Godwin Emefiele, suspended CBN Governor to Court.

This is in compliance with the order of an Abuja High Court on Thursday.

A statement by the DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, explained that the Service had in 2022, applied for a court order to detain Emefiele over a criminal investigation but was restrained by an FCT High Court.

According to him, the suspended CBN Governor was however, arrested in June 2023, on suspected fresh criminal infractions/information, one of which forms the basis for his current prosecution.
