Federal Lawmaker Seeks Divine Intervention To End Banditry In Zamfara

A Federal lawmaker representing Gusau/Tsafe constituency at House of Representatives, Mr. Kabiru Amadu Mai palace has organized a special prayer session and sought for divine intervention to end banditry and other atrocities in his constituency and the state in general.

The prayer session which took place at Tudun wada Juma’at mosque in Gusau the capital city of Zamfara State in the northwestern Nigeria, had many dignitaries in attendance including the state governor, Dauda Lawal represented by SSG, Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello; renowned clerics and politicians among others.

Islamic clerics from different sects prayed for the restoration of peace and tranquility as well as socio-economic stability in the state. They also urged people of the state to repent from all evil acts and devote themselves to worshipping Allah alone.

In his speech, the state Governor Dauda Lawal who was represented by the secretary to the state government, Abubakar Nakwada commended the lawmaker for organizing the prayers, saying the present administration is committed and determined to end banditry and other sundry crimes in the state.

He urged the state populace to support the government and security agencies in the fight against banditry and to continue praying for the restoration of peace and harmony in the state and the country as a whole.

Also speaking, the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello said, prayers remain the only option to seek divine intervention to end the lingering insecurity that claimed thousands of lives and destroyed properties worth billions of Naira.

He, however, advocated for urgent measures to alleviate the current economic hardship being encountered by the masses.

Earlier, the convener of the prayer session, Honorable Kabiru Amadu Mai palace, Member House of Representatives, representing Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency said he met with all the security chiefs in the state and was briefed about the sorry state of security in Zamfara state which requires all hands to be on desk to address, saying divine intervention is the only solution to the problem.

Mai palace who appealed to other parts of the state to organize a similar sessions, said the state governor’s efforts need to be complimented by all.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly Member has constituted a powerful committee consisting of Traditional and religious leaders, prominent personalities among others to visit the Chief of Army Staff; Chief of Air Staff; Inspector General of Police; DSS Boss and all other stakeholders to seek for more intervention to end the protracted security security challenges bedeviling Zamfara State.
