Muslims have been urged to use the period of Ramadan Fast to pray for peace, unity and better economic prosperity in the country.

Former Dean, Postgraduate school University of Ilorin, Professor Yusuf Badmas made the call while speaking with Journalists on the commencement of Ramadan fast in Ilorin the Kwara state capital.

According to him, fasting is an institution that is put in place by God to reform the conduct and character of Muslims at the end of thirty days.

Professor Badmas said the fasting Muslim should avoid any act that is capable of invalidating his fasting during the period.

He advised Muslims to use the period to pray God to put an end to the hardship being experienced in the country.

Professor Badmas also urged wealthy individuals to assist those in need during this period to enable them observe Ramadan fast at ease.
