NOA Charges Nigerians On Rules Guiding Electoral Process

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kano office has charged Nigerians, to abide by rules and regulations guiding the electoral process, to ensure free and fair election.

The State Director NOA Kano office, Alhaji Salisu Waziri Kutama,made the call during an exclusive interview with Radio Nigeria’s correspondent in Kano.

According to him, Kano residents especially youths should desist from partisan politics and carrying weapons to polling units.

The state director, cautioned those without voters card against visiting polling units, to avoid congestion and other unethical acts.

Alhaji Salisu highlighted that, in the past, some elections were characterized by violence and ballot box snatching, by unpatriotic Nigerians, saying that whoever is found guilty of such crimes would face the wrath of the law.

He said, the Bi-modal Voters Accreditation Machine System (BIVAS), would be used to accredit voters, capturing their facial and thumb prints, before casting their votes.

“who ever refused to abide by regulations would not cast his vote”.

On the issue of women that adorned their hands with henna, he explained that, the machine would not capture their finger prints, there by losing their mandate to exercise their civil responsibilities.

He highlighted that, modalities were put in place by the National Orientation Agency (NOA), on voter education to enlighten people at the grass roots on dos and donts during election.

The state director prayed for the successful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
