Alhaji Muhammad Muttaka Rini NPC Federal Commissioner, Zamfara State at the training

The National Population Commission -NPC, says it will step down the training of facilitators to other personnel especially supervisors and enumerators.l

The Federal Commissioner of the commission in charge of Zamfara State, Alhaji Muhammad Muttaka Rini gave the assurance shortly after supervising the ongoing training exercise at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau.

According to him, 1,044 facilitators and specialised workforce are currently undergoing training for the 2023 Population and Housing Census in Zamfara.

Muttaka Rini further explain that, the participants were carefully selected for the training to serve as facilitators at the Local Government Areas, adding that they are to step down the training to the field coordinators, supervisors and enumerators at the LGAs.

He also urged them to be more active and fully participate in the exercise as they are going to write a test at the end of the training and the final selection would be based on performance.

The Federal commissioner also called them to be good ambassadors of the commission while assuring them of their safety during the course of their assignment.

He said the recruitment for supervisors and enumerators is ongoing throughout the 14 LGAs of the state.

Muttaka Rini advised all the applicants not to bribe or give gratification to any staff of the commission or any canvasser in the course of applying for the exercise.

According to him, all those that applied and qualified for the exercise they would be screened and engaged on merit.

He thanked the management, Principal Trainers and Technical Team of the commission in the state for their commitment to the success of the exercise.

Earlier, the State Training Coordinator of NPC, Dr Musa Gamji, urged the participants to be committed to their responsibilities during and after the training.
