The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE) Kwara state Chapter has appealed to the state government to urgently facilitate the passage of the local governments autonomy bill before the state House of Assembly to give the people at the grassroot a new lease of life.

The state secretary of NULGE, Comrade Terry Henry made the appeal in a statement in Ilorin.

According to him, the passage of the bill would bring more development to the rural communities.

He urged the state governor to rise and align himself with the true Democrats and Progressives by supporting the passage of the bill.

Comrade Henry appealed to members of the state House of Assembly to do the will of their people and pass the local government autonomy bill into law as demonstrated by other states of the federation.

He noted that the workers may be forced to vote against the interest of the state government in the forthcoming general election if the local government autonomy bill is not passed into law.

Comrade Henry however, commended the State government for the prompt payment of worker’s salary as well as the back logged of salaries owed by the previous administrations in the state.
