National Ginger Association of Nigeria NGAN has called for meaningful collaborations and Government support in other to harness the abundant benefits of Ginger in Nigeria.
President of the Association, Squadron leader Nuhu B. Daudu Rtd , made the call in Kaduna during the inauguration of the state EXCO .
He said it is a known fact that Nigerian Ginger is of High quality and well sort after globally , and called for funding from financial institutions and other stakeholders to develop the inherent potential of the commodity.
Speaking at the event, member representing Kagarko constituency at the Kaduna State House of assembly, Honorable Nuhu Goroh Shadalafiya stressed that the Ginger produced in kachia, Zangon Kataf Jaba and Kagarko local government areas of Kaduna State has been listed in the world market because of its quality as as a result of the unique God given nature of the soil in the areas .
He said Ginger is a gold mine if properly harnessed and marketed , while disclosing that there is a bill being sponsored by him at the state house of assembly to that effect , he noted that there are loans that could be made available through the apex bank to encourage farmers and merchants of Ginger .
He charged the newly sworn in EXCO to work towards harmonising the union for the common good of all .
The newly inaugurated state Chairman, Pastor Friday Jakiri pledged to do his best to sanitize and dignify the activities of the Association for the greater acheivements .
