Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar has declared today Friday the 25th of November 2022 as the first day of Jumada Ula 1444 after Hijira.
This was made known in a statement signed by the chairman advisory committee on religious affairs Sultanate council, Pro. Sambo Wali Junaidu.
He said the Committee together with the National Moon sighting committee had received and accepted report from various Moon sighting committee across the country confirming the sighting of the new crescent of Jumada Ula 1444 after Hijira on Thursday the 29th of Rabi’ul Thani 1444 after Hijira equivalent to the 24th November 2022.
