Zamfara state Police Command says its operatives have bursted bandits and terrorists along Zurmi – Jibia road and rescue a one-year old baby and 6 women.

This was contained in a press release signed and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Mohammed Shehu.

SP Shehu explained that, today (Friday) police operatives received an intelligence information about the abduction of the victims on Thursday at Kadamutsa village of Zurmi local government area of Zamfara State, hence the Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with Vigilante acted professionally and gallantly leading to the rescue of all the victims unconditionally.

The PPRO noted that the Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along Zurmi – Jibiya axis, leading to the rescue of all the 6 women and one old child unhurt.

Mr Shehu said the victims were medically checked, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed them over to their families.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf, while commending the Police operatives and vigilante for the successful rescue operation, congratulated the victims for regaining their freedom, and reiterated the Command’s continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities and apprehend criminal elements committing heinous crimes across the state.
