
Kano State Zoological and wildlife Management Agency has emerged first at the just concluded national agricultural show held at Karu local Government area of Nasarawa state .
The event was organized by National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Kano Zoological Garden, Malam lawan Jinjiri Kurmawa reiterated government’s readiness to uplift the zoo to international standards.
He noted that, the state had witnessed tremendous achievements in various aspects of human endeavor.

The managing director commended organisers of the event for their dedication and commitment which has yielded positive results.
“Fifteen wild animals and animal parts were exhibited in mobile zoo Lion, spotted hyena ,Stripped hyena, Common jackal, honey badger, Crested porcupine
Nile crocodile, Nubian vulture “
Radio Nigeria reports that, stakeholders at the annual event lamented poor turnout , attributing it to insecurity, climate change, production cost, as well as political activities.
They however, called on relevant authorities to make subsequent National Agricultural Shows mandatory for states which would go a long way in improving participation.

The National Agricultural Show is organized annually by the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria.
The 2022 event themed “Small Holder Farming: The Challenges of Climate Change, Insecurity and Production Costs” was attended by few states across the country.
