United States Government has provided over $3 million grant to Nigerian firms, to support the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Nigeria and across Africa.
The Director, U.S. Trade and Development Agency, U.S.T.D.A, Enoh Ebong while signing the agreement with the benefiting firms, in Abuja, expressed the United States government’s commitment towards investing more resources for the benefits of all Nigerians.
She explained that the grants would be used to provide a comprehensive cancer care center in Abuja and also expand the tele-medicine services while using the best United States technology services to achieve the set target.
Ebong said since inception 30 years ago, over 70 project have been executed in Nigeria by the agency.
The Chief Executive Officer of one of the benefiting firms, Dr. Felix Ogedegbe said the rising cases of cancer cases prompted his organization to commence comprehensive treatment and care.
He said when completed, the comprehensive cancer treatment and care centre would bring about medical tourism into the country.
