The Zamfara State Executive Council of the NUJ has approve the constitution of “ZAKARA” Committee for the 2023 political transition in the state.

This is contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Secretary of the union, Comrade Ibrahim Ahmad Gada.

The union set up seven committees that will carry out different activities to ensure the smooth running of the programme throughout the political season.

In addition to the main committee, the council established sub – committees that include; Contact Committee, Protocol Committee, Security Committee, Anchors Committee, Questions Moderation Committee, Welfare and Logistics Committee.

The members of those committee are drawn from the registered members of the union across all the nine chapels in the state.

Inaugurating the Committee, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare charge the members to take responsibility vested on them with all sincerity to justify the confidence the union have on them.

He added that the union has confidence in their ability to discharge their duties and lift the council to the next level.

The Chairman warned all members against any act capable of tarnishing their image and that of the union.
