The National Industrial Court in Abuja, has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to call off strike.

In a ruling on the interlocutory injunction filed by the Federal government, Justice Polycarp Hamman restrained ASUU from continuing with the industrial action pending the determination of the suit.

Justice Hamman also ordered that the case file be returned to the President of the Industrial Court for reassignment to another judge.

The court order is coming few hours after the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, had threatened that no political campaign would hold until students of public universities return to the classrooms.

ASUU had been on strike since the February 14 as negotiations between it and the Federal Government continues to fail.
