The National Association of Community Health Practioners Zamfara State Chapter have elected new leaders to serve for the next three years.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Gusau reports that the election took place in Gusau the state capital amidst the presence of security personnel.

Among them is the Blueprint correspondent Sanusi Muhammad who emerged as Treasurer unopposed.

Speaking at the end of the election, the electoral Chairman Comrade Aminu Yusuf Gidado described the exercise as free, fair and credible.

According to him, the election is conducted for only Secretary, Publicity Secretary and Chairmanship positions, while the positions of the Vice chairman, treasurer, financial secretary and auditor are unopposed respectively.

Those elected are Comrade Murtala Mohammed as chairman who defeated Murtala Jangebe, Lawal Bello as secretary while while Musa Mohammed S/Pawa as Publicity Secretary .

The immediate past chairman of the association Comrade Sarkin Noma Sa’adu called for the unity and support from the members to the new executives to enable them to discharge their responsibilities.

In an acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman Comrade Murtala Mohammed commended the efforts of the electoral committee and pledged to carry every member of the association along for the development of the state and union in general.

He also solicits for the support and corporation from the union members in order to achieve the desired objectives and to fight for the right of their members.
