Residents of Takai town were thrown into deep shock, following a tragedy that claimed the lives of three people and injured fifteen others.

Reports indicate that two vehicles, a commercial hummer bus from Kano and Toyota hilux traveling from Jigawa were involved in a head on collision.

Narrating the incident, Public Relations Officer Kano State Fire Service PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said ,the two vehicles were engulfed by fire after the collision, which led to the death of 28 year old Sani Isah, 30 years Shamawilu Isah and 32 year Musa Yusuf,who were burnt beyond recognition.

He noted that, fire fighters and police from Takai made an effort and successfully quenched the fire, rescued eighteen people, fifteen from Hummer bus and three from the Toyota Hilux.

Saminu Yusif maintained that, Sadisu Abdul’aziz , Kabiru Ahmad, Abubakar Adamu ,Abdul’aziz Sani, Kabiru Sani and ten others are currently undergoing treatment at Takai general hospital.

He said the remains of the three people have been handed over to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.

The public relations officer attributed the accident to driving without obeying traffic rules, and charged motorists to desist from overtaking and other illegal acts while on the road.
