The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Professor Ali Isa Pantami has reassured the commitment of the federal government to providing quality ICT services to both the public and private sectors across the country.

The minister stated this when he paid an inspection visit to newly constructed zonal Data 4 collection in Kano.

He said the aim of establishing the Data collection sector was to enhance ICT services and also to generate revenue for the government.

The minister explained the storage capacity of the Datacenter was being implemented in phases, stressing that the first phase has 0.7 terabytes.

“We build the center base on the demands of the citizens and customers so that it will be sustained, but when our customers increase we have already provided an avenue for that “

Professor Isa Ali Pantami maintained that the main objectives of the digital economy center were to provide services and to support security agencies geared toward curtailing cybercrime and other related issues.

He maintained that the data collection center would soon be commissioned by the federal government, saying similar centers had been established some years ago in other parts of the country.
