Journalists Urged To Protect Nation’s Democracy

Journalists have been urged to ensure professionalism and protect the nation’s democracy through accurate reportage.

The National Vice Chairman of Labour Party for North Central, Mr Shirsha Adi made the call while speaking with Journalists on the side line of the party’s Town Hall meeting held in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

He advised Journalists to ensure adequate protection of the nation’s democratic institutions.

According to him, the era of sensational reporting and fake news are over, adding that all hands must be on deck to project the country positively.

Mr Adi called on the leadership of the NUJ to do all that is humanly possible to send away quacks and fake Journalists.

He also called on the youths to redouble their efforts to ensure growth and development of the country.

In his remark, the Chairman Kwara Chapter of Labour Party, Mr Kunle Rotimi urged the youths to shun thuggery and channel their energy to productive venture.
