2023 Census, Election : NIS To Curtail Influx Of Foreigners – Spokesperson

The Nigerian Immigration Service says, it has put all the necessary machineries in place in order to prevent the influx of foreigners into the country for the successful conduct of the national population census and the 2023 general election.


Spokesperson of the service in Adamawa Chief Supretendant Muhammed Ya Uba made this known in an interview with Newsmen in Yola.


Muhammed Ya Uba said, the Nigerian Immigration Service was established by the government to serve as gate keeper to the nation, aimed at monitoring the movement of non – nationals within and outside the country.


He further explained that, the service is also saddled with the responsibility of issuing some facilities to the general public , comprising of valid traveling documents and visa processing among others.


Ya Uba said, the patrol and surveillance units of the service will be working tirelessly along the border with Cameroon in order to curtail the influx of non nationals identified to be nuisance or criminals into the country.


The command public relations officer described security as a collective responsibility , with everyone expected to participate actively in order to ensure the protection of lives and property of citizens.

Ya Uba further commended the efforts of the entire security agencies in fighting all of forms of crimes and criminality in the country.
