Kano state government says it will provide uniforms , kits and other necessary training to the newly recruited hisbah personnel.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje made the pledge during the passing out parade of five hundred hisbah corps trained at NYSC camp Kusallah, Karaye Kano.
Dr. Ganduje who was represented by Kano state commissioner for Religious affairs, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Adam, explained that the state government would also provide uniforms to all hisbah staff to boost their morale.
The governor however noted that, preparations were in top gear to complete structures, provide equipment and other relevant working materials to hisbah offices across the forty four local government areas.
He commended the efforts, zeal, and commitment of staff and management of Hisbah Board in the discharging its responsibilities.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, charged Kano residents to complement governments efforts by abiding by rules and regulations to maintain a crime free society.
Earlier in his remarks, the commander general of the board, Sheikh Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina highlighted that the training would go a long way in strengthening physical and moral capabilities of the agency’s personnel.
He said the trainees were guided on how to mitigate societal vices, resolve conflicts and disputes amicably in addition to inculcating good moral upbringing among youths.
Sheikh Ibn Sina said, the board had succeeded in confiscating and destroying large consignment of beer and other intoxicants in the last few months.
He called on parents and guardians to be more vigilant, and report any suspected person or character to relevant authorities to move the state forward.
The event was attended by the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar II, Chairman Karaye local government council, hisbah management staff and marked by parade, karate and distribution of certificates to trainees among others.
