The minister for the state-federal ministry of works and Housing Alhaji Umar El-Yakub has reassured the commitment of the Buhari administration to ensuring timely completion of the ongoing infrastructure across the country.

Alhaji Umar Elyakub stated this during an inspection tour on the ongoing reconstruction and utilization of kano to katsina road.

He said road infrastructure was been considered very critical by the Buhari administration to improve the socio-economic development of the general populace.

The minister maintained that the contract for the dualization of kano to katsina was awarded in 2013, saying the present administration has put much emphasis on ensuring that the reconstruction and dualization were completed timely.

“tremendous progress has been made under this administration considering the importance the administration of president Mohammad Buhari attaches to infrastructural development in this country, that is why among other roads this road has been put under SUKUK, which was an initiative of this administration so that funding would be accessed by contractors when their work is being certified.

Alhaji Umar Elyakub expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the work and urged the contractors to sustain the tempo.

” All the challenges mentioned by the contractors would be looked into, all we need from the is to ensure the quality of work and timely completion “

Speaking while inspecting the ongoing Yakasai – Badume road, the minister urged the contractors to expedite action in ensuring that immediately after the rainy season the bridge that was designed to be constructed was put in place.
