Two persons have drown in a waterway in Gusau, the capital city of Zamfara State.
Our Reporter who visited the scene reports that, the incident occured at Fira-da-Kwaddi area in Gusau in a large waterway that crossed the area that is under reconstruction overflowed and shootout to dominate all it’s intake channels and houses nearby.
In an interview with Radio Nigeria, 3 survivors revealed their ordeals, saying they were on rescue mission to save the first 21 year old man and his 27 year old uncle entered the water to rescue his nephew but regrettably they all died while the 3 survivors were rescued as they were overpowered by the water tide.
“We attempted to rescue the two, but in the end we fall victims and shouting for assistance which some experts in our area save our lives” on of the survivors narrated.
He noted that, the rescuers found a dead body of the 27 year old who was to rescue his nephew but the first victim’s dead body could not be found as at the time of filing this report.
When contacted, father of the later victim also grandfather to the first victim, Malam Adamu described the incident as unfortunate and prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
