Jigawa State To Promote Management Of Criminal Justice Institutions

Jigawa State Government is to promote management of criminal justice institutions, speedy dispensation of justice, prevention of crime in the society and protection of the rights and interests of the suspects, the dependent and the victims of the crimes.


Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar made this known in an address at the Roundtable Symposium on the Implementation and Enforcement of the State Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2019 at the Manpower Institute Dutse, the Jigawa State Capital.


In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations Habibu Nuhu Kila, the Governor says his administration in collaboration with some donor agencies will ensure the application of the law.

According to him, the state has also conducted training for Judicial officers, prosecutors, investigators, lawyers in the ministry of justice, legal practitioners, the Law Reform Commission and court clerks aimed at building their capacity.


In addition, Governor Badaru explained that members of the public were also carried along in the implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.

He said his administration would continue to ensure judicial institutions were working at the optimum level to support law reforms thereby enhancing justice and fairness in the administration of justice.
