Police Gives Cash To Deceased Officers’ Family In Zamfara State

Zamfara State Police Command has distributed the sum of Two million, five hundred thousand to families of Five deceased police officers who died in active service.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gusau by the image maker of the Command, SP Mohammed Shehu who said, the gesture was from the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usaman Baba Alkali’s welfare insurance scheme to families of late officers.

“On Tuesday, 19th July, 2022, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command CP Ayuba N. Elkanah, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Olubenga Adepoju presented the sum of two million, five hundred thousand naira on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba to Next of Kins of five (5) late Police officers who died in active service” .

The statement reads that SP Shehu explained that, the Presentation of the cheques was in continuation of the IGP’s welfare Insurance scheme to families of deceased Police officers.

During the distribution of the gesture which held at the Police Command Headquarters, Gusau, the Commissioner of Police appreciated the IGP for his continous concern to the welfare of Police officers.

The CP described the gesture as timely, saying it would go a long way in alleviating suffering being experienced by families of the deceased Police officers.

CP Elkana therefore assured the IGP of the command’s Officers and men commitments to continue putting their best in the discharge of their duty for peace, security and safety of Zamfara State and it’s populace.

However, the Commissioner of Police charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that, in the last ten (10) months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police ten times and presented same to the beneficiaries.

One of the benefiting families, Favor Peter, who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries thanks the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
