President Buhari Pledges More Support For Military

Federal Government has restated its commitment towards promoting national security and development.

President Muhammadu Buhari gave the assurance at the graduation ceremony of officers of senior course forty-four held at the Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Kaduna State.

The President explained that government shall employ all elements of national power in ensuring a just society, peaceful co-existence, national unity and sustainable development.

He noted that the on-going collaboration of Nigerian Armed forces and neighbouring countries in a multi-national operation to combat insurgency in the lake chad region has been productive, commendable and successful.

The President disclosed that the last twelve years had been very challenging for the country considering the different security threats, stressing that the Armed forces are working tirelessly to eliminate the threats in synergy with other institutions and nations.

President Buhari commended the management of the college for maintaining the status of a reputable college and assured that his administration would continue to give priority to the training and welfare of officers and men of the Armed forces.

Earlier, Commandant of the College, AVM Olurotimi Anthony Tuwase explained that the course was designed to develop the command, analytical and communication skills of the officers, so as to effectively operate during single service, joint, multi-agency and combined operations towards the accomplishment of constitutional roles.

He charged the graduands to integrate the practical experience acquired to effectively tackle contemporary security challenges, and enhance national security.

A total of two hundred and forty-seven officers drawn from the armed forces, para-military agencies, MDAs as well as officers of allied countries graduated after undergoing a forty-eight week training.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of prizes to deserving graduands.
