Zamfara: High Price Of Rams Due To Increament In Feeds – Chairman Animal Sellers

In Zamfara State Prices of rams have increased beyond the reach of an average citizen.

In an interview with the Chief Imam of Muslum Foundation GRA Mosque Gusau Dr Muhammad Tukur Sani Jangebe said Muslim Faithful who are financially capable should either slaughter ram, camel,sheep, cow or goat during Eid el Kabir as mentioned in the Glorious Quran.

The Islamic scholar insisted the age of the animal individuals plan to slaughter should meet a minimum of; one year for ram and goats, two years in age for cows and buffalo, and five years for camels.

Investigation conducted by radio Nigeria in few markets within Gusau, Bungudu and Tsafe local government areas of the state, for survey on sales and prices of rams and other animals in the markets, indicated that, the prices of the animals have increased by hundred percent.

The Chairman Small Animals Sellers Zamfara Comrade Suwidi Garba Gusau explained that the Price hick was due to increment in animals feeds and high prices of the animals.

Similarly, one of the Cattle sellers in Gusau Market said they have to reduce the prices due to lack of patronage and poor economic condition.

One of the customers, Mallam Bashar Aliyu Gusau decried the high price of the animals as very exorbitant compared to what they bought last year

High cost of diesel, animals feeds, insecurity, were among the major factors responsible for the high cost of the animals.
