Written by Basirat Memudu

The emergency security meeting summoned by President Buhari has ended with a call on Nigerians to assist in providing credible intelligence that could improve the security situation being experienced.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, who briefed State House correspondents, said investigation into the attack had begun.

The Minister said no authority had yet been blamed for the lapses that facilitated the attack, assuring that anyone indicted by the investigation will be sanctioned appropriately.

He said the government was on top of the situation, adding that many of the terrorists that attacked the Kuje facility had been killed, but fell short of giving their number, arguing that the terrorists have a trait of not leaving their dead ones behind.

The Minister said some of the escapees had been apprehended and returned.

Probing questions asked were parried by the Minister on the bases that they could undermine the government’s next line of action.
