Kwara state government says it will ensure adequate protection of lives of both human and animals following the reported death of some animals as a result of the fumigation carried out at the premises of a grains factory in the state.

The state Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Remilekun Banigbe gave the assurance when she led a team from the Ministry on an inspection visit to the factory to ascertain the level of the damages caused .

She said that the cause of the death of the animals will be investigated thoroughly to forestall future occurence.

Mrs Banigbe said state government is passionate about the wellbeing of the residents , adding that it will leave no stone unturned until the standard of living of the people improves.

In his remark the Community Liaison Officer, Alhaji Ibrahim Isiaq, who spoke on behalf of the Community said the matter is already under control ,noting that a meeting has been scheduled with the management of the factory to ascertain the cause of the incident, with a view to resolving it amicably.
