Adamawa Government Emulates Jigawa State Human Management System

Adamawa state government says it will emulate Jigawa state human resource management system.

The Director Establishment, office of the Head of the Civil Service, Adamawa State, Mr Albert Ray made this known when he led a delegation from Adamawa state to the office of the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila.

According to him, they were sent to Jigawa state by the head of the civil service of Adamawa State to understudy the state human resource management system.

He described Jigawa state human resource management system as the most successful in the country.

The team leader said, Adamawa state wanted to borrow a leaf from Jigawa  State using such model with a view to improving its human resource management system.

Responding, the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila said human resources management system had helped the State improve capability of it’s staff to manage, healthcare, record keeping, promotion, advancement, internally generated revenue, benefits, compensation among others.

He assured the delegation of all possible support and cooperation to achieve the desired objectives.

The delegation also visited the state and local governments contributory pension scheme board.

Receiving the delegation in his office, the Executive Secretary of the Scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa said the state pensions Scheme was initiated in 2003, going side-by-side  the public service pensions system being paid directly from Government revenues.

He explained that under the arrangement, civil servants in the state contribute 8 per cent of their monthly basic salary, while the State Government contributes 17 per cent.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa said that the local government councils and local education authorities were captured before their retirement period through the directorate for salary and pension administration.

Also speaking, the Director Administration and Finance, Directorate of Salary and Pension Administration, Malam Yushau Abdu said the Directorate for salary and pension administration is responsible for the preparation of payroll, screening, authentication of retirees, and death benefit of workers through the use of the electronic system.

Radio Nigeria reports that, during the visit, the delegation has also visited the State Data Centre where they were briefed about the activities of the Centre.
