Kabir Masari is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2023 elections, according to Kabiru Faskari, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Masari was the party’s welfare secretary when former Edo governor Adams Oshiomhole was the party’s national chairman.

“He qualifies as veteran in terms of politics because he joined politics from the onset. He is young. He represents the youths and is grounded in politics because he was even a national official of the APC and he is quite close with the presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted his nomination form to the Independent National Electoral Commission, according to a statement issued by Tunde Rahman of the Tinubu campaign office on Friday.

“As stipulated by the electoral law and Independent National Electoral Commission guidelines and timetable, the standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has returned his duly completed nomination forms to INEC,” the statement reads.

The forms were returned two days ahead of schedule, he added.

The news comes as INEC sets a June 17 deadline for political parties to submit a list of candidates for the 2023 general election.
