A total of ọne hundred and eighty communities in Niger State have been taken off from the national grid by the state government.

They arẹ nọ mọre under the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company the AEDC, instead they arẹ using the mini solar plant.

State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna, on the lingering water shortage, epiliptic power supply and insecurity bedevilling some parts of the state.

Mohammed Umsr Bago who have Lambata community in Gurara local government Council in Niger state as ọne of rhe benefitiaries of such gigantic move however explained that Niger State Government House, office of Secretary tọ Niger State Government,  and hospitals in the state among othẹrs were completely out of AEDC, using solar plant.

Hẹ said rhe state Government plans to remove its ministries, departments and agencies from the national grid in future, and advised people of Niger State to take advantage of  renewable energy that is efficient and cost effectuve.

On security, Governor Mohammed Umsr Bago assured the people of Niger State of his administration tọ ensre that peace returned tọ the state, tọ enable them return home and fast track speedy development of Niger State, under his New Niger Agenda.

While on rhe problem of water scarcity in Minna and its environs duẹ to road construction, the Governor said Niger State Government is doing everything possible tọ disilt the Tagwe dam and mọre reservoiurs, while on rhe interim it is deploying tankers tọ distribute water tọ some affected areas tọ ameliorate their hardship.

Governor Umar Bago cpmmended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving work for the construction of Jazu tọ Suleja and Mokwa tọ Bida road, which hẹ said will boost farming activities and enhance the economic viability of Niger state and Nigeria.
