Journalists have been charge to imbibe the culture of reporting nutrition stories, to address Malnutrition which causes death among children.

A media Guru, Mr. Akin Jimoh gave the Charge during a 3- day Civil Society Scaling – Nutrition in Nigeria (CS-SUNN) media training held in Abuja.

He said the government and other relevant stakeholders needed to come together and fine-tune modalities for ensuring that malnutrition has been drastically reduced in both urban and rural areas.

Mr. Akin Jimoh noted that policymakers and stakeholders need to wake up from their slumber and find a way of reducing the mortality rates that occurred as a result of the malnutrition crisis.

In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of CS-SUNN, Mr. Sunday Okworonkwo said the organization was working assiduously in partnering with the media, aimed at playing a critical role in addressing the scourge.

He maintained that CS-SUNN would explore all the available avenues, especially through advocacy and commitment, geared toward achieving the set objectives.

During the training, journalists were trained on techniques of how to engage in the field, visits to CMAM centers and provide guide on how to translate findings from the field stories.

Our Correspondent reports that the workshop attracted participants from Kano, Lagos, Nassarawa, Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
