PMB Advises Ayade On His Presidential Ambition

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has presented himself for consideration in the event the APC decides to zone the 2023 Presidential position to the south-south.

The Governor, who met with President Buhari over the matter, said the President advised him to test his public acceptability through consultations before declaring for the presidency.

He said he was propelled by the practical solution he had in solving the socio-political problems bedevilling the country, but that despite his ambition, he would support whoever the party would choose as its flag-bearer.

Reacting to the rumour that the APC might present former President, Goodluck Jonathan, as its 2023 presidential flag-bearer, Professor Ayade said he had great respect for Dr. Jonathan, stressing that he is a loyal member of the party.

The Governor emphasised that he would never question the powers of the party nor those of President Buhari, whom he had massive confidence in his ability, unbiased, and calculated efforts at bringing peace and development to every part of the country.

Professor Ayade called on Nigerians to appreciate and support the President’s efforts at sustaining the unity of the country.

He observed that Nigeria would have been dismembered if it were somebody other President Buhari steering the affairs of the country.
