The joint efforts by Niger state govẹrnment and security agencies have rescued many abductees and repelled bandits attacks in Shiroro and Munya Local Government Councils.

This is contained in a statement signed and issued to Newsmen, by the state Commissioner of Local Government Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security Mr Emmanuel Umar in Minna.

The statement further explained that while Niger state govẹrnment appreciates victories recorded during these operations, it also looks forward to a sustained operations to eradicate bandits from the state.

According to the statement these efforts will no doubt restore confidence in the communities that will enable them return back to their farms.

On alleged killings of some civilians at Kurebe in Shiroro local government council as a result of ongoing air and ground operations by the military and other security agencies, Mr Emmanuel Umar maintained that there is no iorta of truth on the rumour being peddled and advised the public to disregard such rumours.

It however added that there is no civilian residence in these areas for sometimes now due to infiltrations and activities of terrorists which forced the locals to seek shelter as Internally Displaced Persons in other parts of Niger state.
