Kwara State Government Supports Human Security Programmes

Kwara government says it will support the implementation of progrmmes that will ensure peaceful society and secure humanity.

The state Commisssioner for women Affairs, Mrs Mopelola Abdulmaliq- Bashir stated this while speaking at the launching of the “Kwara state Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security” held in Ilorin.

According to her, the state government had placed women in its scheme of things to enable them contribute to issue that affects their wellbeing and development.

Mrs Abdulmalik-Bashir explained that women and girls are the most vulnerable in crisis situation, adding that they need support and protection.

She said the state government had also put in place measures to ensure women participation in peace building process.

Mrs Abdulmaliq-Bashir urged women to ensure participation in the full implementation of the action plan to make it a reality.

In her remark, the Kwara state President of the National Council for women Society (NCWS), Hajiya Zainab Audu-Abdullahi appealed to women to contribute their quota toward the actualization of programmes that affects them.

In his address, the Daudu of Afon in Asa local government area of Kwara state, Mallam Hannafi Kola- Balogun advised women to ensure other stakeholders were carried along on issues that concerns their wellbeing to enable it succeed.

Earlier in her speech, the Executive officer of Olive Community Development Initiatives, Mrs Oluwatoni Adeleke called for the formulation of the action plan across the 16 local government area of the state to make it more effective.
