Beneficiaries of maize processing and marketing equipment under a World Bank project known as APPEALS have called on Federal and State governments to extend the gesture to more farmers for abundant foodstuff production in the country.

They made the call in Mararraban Jos Kaduna while receiving modern equipment to boost maize value chain production program being implemented by the Project.

Some of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Nagogo, Mujahir Aliyu and Harira Ahmad described the modern maize processing equipment as more effective, easy to manipulate save time and money for the beneficiaries.

The State Programme Officer of the Project, Dr. Yahaya Aminu said over eight hundred beneficiaries were duly registered with Corporate Affairs Commission and have a well designed investment plan endorsed by the World Bank.

Dr. Yahaya Aminu stated that Kaduna State targets ten thousand farmers to benefit from various farming skills and equipment under the APPEALS project which started four years ago.


In their separate Speeches, the state permanent Secretary Ministry for Human Services and Social Development Hajiya Maryam Muazu and a member, technical committee of the Project Abduljabar Gambo warned against misuse or selling of the equipment.
