
Women have been described as the backbone of any meaningful society due to their commitment in inculcating moral values on their children.
The Kano State Hisbah Board Deputy Commander General women wing, Malama Kulsum Kasim stated this during a one day workshop for female hisbah personnel, organized by the board, at Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani mosque kofar mata, Kano.
According to her, the agency was committed to eradicating drug pushing and abuse, domestic violence, street begging among others.
Malama Kulsum pointed out that, the seminar was organized to enlighten female hisbah personnel, on how to effectively discharge their duties according to the teachings of Islam.
The deputy commander general explained that the first lady of Kano state governor Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has contributed her quota in the fight against drug abuse, by inaugurating female anti drug ambassadors across the 44 local government areas in the state.

She said the female anti drug ambassadors were working tirelessly through educating women on how to be good ambassadors.
She noted that, domestic violence, drug abuse and other societal vices are on the rise, as such there was the urgent need for government and relevant stakeholders to work assiduously in mitigating the menace.
Also speaking, Assistant hisbah commander general da’awah, Malama Binta Muhammad charged participants to put the knowledge gained into practice.
She said the agency would organize more workshops to achieve the desired objectives
Some of the participants who spoke to Radio Nigeria, described the seminar as apt and promised to make judicious use of the knowledge gained.
They charged parents and guardians to complement government’s efforts by sending their wards to school to move the state forward.
The workshop attracted over five hundred female hisbah personnel, and marked by paper presentations and other activities aimed at promoting the standard of Kano hisbah board according to international standard.
