Motorists in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital have urged the Federal Government to sympathize with Nigerians and end the fuel scarcity in the country including Taraba.

They made the call while speaking with our Correspondent during his visit to various filling stations.

Many filling stations that he visited within and outside the state capital, have been locked for over two months as a result of the scarcity of the product as confirmed by some security guards in the filling stations who did not want their voices to be recorded.

As the fuel scarcity worsened in the state capital, an investigation by our reporter revealed that many people have parked their vehicles including some commercial ones.

At the NNPC Mega Station in Jalingo which is the only filling station that has been selling the product, many people including tricycles riders on long queue, expressed dismay over the shortage of the product and hike in price.

Assistant Manager of the Mega Station, Aminu Ibrahim said despite the challenges, they were their best to serve the people of the state with the product available at their disposal.

However, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Taraba Command through its Public Relations Officer, ASP Godwin Peter said it has sent its men to various areas to ensure that any filling station that has the product sells it to the public at the approved pump price.

He sought media collaboration to enable them to perform their constitutional duty effectively.
