House of Representatives has directed the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Service Authorities to intensify investigations on the killing of DSP Abdulkadir Abubakar Rano and bring the culprits to book.

The directive was part of the resolutions contained in a motion sponsored by a member from Kano State Alh Kabiru Alhassan Rurum adopted by the House during its plenary.

The House after condemning the killing of DSP Abubakar Rano in National Service and all those who suffered similar predicament emphasized the need for an urgent investigation to avert a similar national tragedy.

Presenting the motion on the floor of the house Alh Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, from Kano State expressed concern that the killing of veteran police like DSP Abubakar Rano poses a challenge against appropriate security and intelligence agencies to penalize the culprits and utilize the outcome of such investigation to avert future related eventualities.

He maintained that the deceased DPO has recorded numerous achievements in ensuring peace, order, and security within his division by sphere heading the collective fight against the bandits, kidnappers, and other criminals in Jibia Local Government before being killed by the bandits.

The lawmaker also said the killing of DSP Rano had occurred at a time the Nigerian Police. and indeed the entire country needs him most, given his unparalleled commitment to fighting crimes at the Jibia axis and environs.

Alhassan Rano also appeal to the Nigeria Police to support and assist the family of the Deceased.

DSP Abdulkadir Abubakar Rano, the then Divisional Police Officer Jibia Katsina State was brutally killed by bandits while attempting to rescue a kidnapped innocent Nigeria woman at Jibia on Tuesday, February 7th, 2022.
