Chairman Northern Speakers Forum, Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has described the death of a former Presidential candidate, Alhaji Bashir Tofa as the loss of a perfect gentleman.
He expressed this in a statement signed by his SA Media and Publicity, Honourable Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, dated Monday January 3, 2022.
“Nigeria has lost a perfect gentleman. The elder statesman Bashir Tofa was peaceful, patriotic and a lover of his country.
“All through his life time, he was never named among controversial politicians that flame embers of disunity, confusion and disintegration,” he said.
The statement said that Tofa never played do-or-die politics, but was an embodiment of democracy at its finest.
“He will be deeply missed by all for his silent role in stabilizing the polity,” it added.
Zailani condoled his immediate family, Kano State Government, President Muhammadu Buhari and the people of Nigeria over what he described as a “monumental loss”.
He prayed for Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
