No fewer than 49 people in kano lost their lives dueh to diffrent disasters in the month of November 2021.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano state fire service Saminu Yusif Abdullahi made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in kano.

According to him, 80 people were saved by the rescue team during the month under review.

The public relations officer explained that, properties lost stood at #28,697,650, while properties worth over 60 million naira were saved.

Saminu Yusif Abdullahi pointed out that, the state fire service received 80 fire calls, 62 rescue calls and 19 false alarms across the 27 fire stations.

Similarly the Nigerian Red cross society had organized a capacity building workshop for staff of the agency to upgrade their services according to international standard.

Presenting certificates of attendance to the participants, the director general of the Kano state fire service Alhaji Hassan Ahmad Muhammad described the seminar as apt.

He reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders to achieve the desired objectives.

The director general called on the general public to handle fire and electric appliances with care and be more vigilant on children to prevent them from local swimming to prevent disasters.
