The International Day For HIV/AIDS was observed in Kaduna State with a sensitization rally to some critical spots within the city centre.

Speaking at the event, Executive Secretary of the State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, KADSACA Dr. Isah Shadow announced that the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the state has drastically reduced from Eleven point Six in the last Three years, to One point One.

He therefore called on all residents to visit the designated health facilities where the services are free, to know their status.

Dr. Isah Shadow stated that the fight against the virus was a continuos one until zero prevalence was achieved and commended the state Government, UNICEF, Society for Family Health and all development partners for their support in the fight.

In a remark, the State coordinator Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS Comrade Bala Isma’l who commended government for its support to members however appealed for empowerment as many of them are women.

Comrade Bala Ismail urged media to create massive awareness against stigmatization and called on affected persons to come out and register with the Network for proper care and healthy living.
