Residents in Kwara state have been urged to ensure strict compliance with fire safety rules to prevent incessant fire out breaks.

The Head of Administrations of Kwara state fire service,Issa Adewale Sikiru made the call while Speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin.

According to him the residents should inculcate the habit of switching off their electrical appliances in offices and at home when not in use to avoid power surge.

Sikiru appealed to parents to avoid sending under aged children to fetch water from wells and Rivers to save their lives.

He also called on the state government to provide more modern fire engines for the service to enable them discharge their duties efficiently and effectively.
