Police Command in Sokoto state has confirmed bandits attack on three villages in Sabon Birni local government area of the state.

The command Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Abubakar Sanusi told Radio Nigeria that nine persons were killed in separate attacks that took place between 15th, 16th, and 17th of this month.

He said, based on findings of police personnel, the three attacks resulted in the death of nine persons contrary to the figures being circulated on social media

In a related development, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has condoled with the victims of bandits attack in Illela local government area of the state.

During a visit to the affected community, Governor Tambuwal onbehalf of Government and people of Sokoto state extended heartfelt condolence over the unfortunate incident which claimed the lives of forty three people of the state.

The Governor commended the local government authorities, monarchs and community leaders for their assistance with security operatives in the area in a bid to control the situation.

He said his administration would continue to assist victims of insurgency in the state and prayed for the reposed souls of the deceased.
