Federal Government has commenced the installation of modern street lights in Federal University Dutse, jigawa state.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulkarim  Sabo Mohammed disclosed this to Radio Nigeria in Dutse.

He said that the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing commenced the instàllation of 96 mordern solar street lights in the campus in order to illuminate the university.

According to him, the intervention was courtesy of the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of works.

Professor Abdulkareem Sabo Mohammed said the solar street lights would be installed along the roads and Faculty areas to improve visibility in the university at night.

He commended the federal government for the various intervention projects executed in the university especially the perimeter fencing of the institution which has since been concluded.

It would be recalled that one of the things the VC did when he took over in February this year, was to tour the university at night  where he discovered the poor illumination of the campus and he gave directive for  immediate action  to illuminate the clinic, faculty and hostel areas.
