Gunmen have abducted the Permanent Secretary Niger state ministry of Transport Alh Ibrahim Musa Garba and one of his children at Zungeru the headquarters of Wushishi local government council.
He was abducted in his residence.
The gunmen carrying dangerous weapons whisked him and his child away to an unknown destination.
They are yet to establish any contact for the payment of ransom.
When contacted on telephone Secretary to the Niger state Government Ahmed Ibrahim Matane said he has been informed about the incident.
He however said security agencies had swung into action to rescue the victims unhurt.
