A committee set up by Sokoto state government to work out modalities for the establishment of state university of education has submitted its final report.
Receiving the report, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambawal said the report would be forwarded to the state assembly for deliberate.
The governor who commended the committee, explained that the university is an upgrade of Shehu Shagari College of Education to Shehu Shagari University of Education.
He stressed that the existing college would be move to another location in the state for the continuation of studies.
Presenting the report, the chairman of the committee, and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Sokoto State University , Professor Zayyanu Umar said the establishment of the university would leave a footprint in the history of the present administration led by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambawal.
He added that the proposed university would contribute in producing man power not only to the state but the country in general.
